How do we understand digital? How do we manage digital? How do we create digital?

In the perspective of Timisoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture, one of the most important strategies of the Timisoara National Museum of Art is to adapt traditional museum structures to the requirements of contemporary society and new forms of heritage digitization.

Thus, the MNArT ACCESS project, one of the 40 pilot projects selected within the European program Doors – Digital Incubator for Museums / Stage 1 organized by Ars Electronica from Linz, was designed to benefit from a technological booster with major role in remodelling art collections, versatile access to cultural assets and archiving in databases, developing and engaging the audience through technologically mediated participatory strategies and the integration of heritage in the global digital network.

However, beyond the simple implementation of specific technologies, the digital incubator highlighted the need to develop a digital maturity in order to “humanize” the digitization process in accordance with the issues of identity, diversity, inclusion and sustainability in the global crisis of recent years.

Thank you, Ars Electronica, Museum Booster & Ecsite for revealing us the best roadmap of digitization for arts and organizations!
