Home / Artă Bănățeană și Artă Modernă Românească – Sala 8
Autoportretul, sec XIX-XX

Chipul creatorului

Self-portrait, 19th-20th century

Face of the Creator

The exhibition space dedicated to self-portraits and portraits of artists reveals to the visitor some of the authors of the works encountered in the art gallery. Paintings, drawings and sculptures representing the creators of the works of art in the previous exhibition halls such as Oskar Szuhanek (1887-1972), Adalbert Varga (1900-1940), Iulius Podlipny (1898-1991) and others, illustrate the history of modern art in Romania. The multitude of sources of inspiration, the richness of European influences and the freshness derived from the originality of the perspectives of the authentic artists in the collection of Timșoara National Art Museum represent major aspects of the local and national art scene.
