MNArT Science 2026 Conference – First Edition, with the theme “Heritage Reinterpreted”

The National Museum of Art in Timișoara is pleased to announce the first edition of the MNArT Science international conference, the annual scientific conference dedicated to specialists in the field of cultural and museum heritage.
The event will take place in a hybrid format: in-person and online. Participation is free.
Held under the theme “Heritage Reinterpreted,” the conference aims to create an interdisciplinary framework for dialogue, the exchange of best practices, and the presentation of experiences relevant to the contemporary museum sector. The event seeks to encourage reflection on how heritage is researched, preserved, interpreted, and promoted in the current context.
Researchers, museologists, art historians, conservators, restorers, curators, cultural managers, specialists in museum education and cultural communication, as well as other professionals interested in the following topics are invited to participate:
- Museology and art history (16th–21st centuries);
- Curatorship and heritage exhibitions;
- Conservation and restoration;
- Museum education;
- Cultural PR;
- Cultural management;
- Museum marketing.
Presentations will take one of the following forms:
- oral presentation (10-minute presentation, 5-minute Q&A);
- A0 scientific poster.
Important Dates:
September 15, 2026 – submission of the registration form and an abstract of no more than 400 words (in Romanian or English) to: research.mnart@gmail.com
September 25, 2026 – notification of selection results to participants
October 15, 2026 – submission of the full text of the paper by selected participants.
Abstracts will be published in a preprint. Articles for the postprint may be submitted to MNArT by December 31, 2026.
We look forward to receiving contributions that explore innovative perspectives on cultural heritage and contribute to the development of professional dialogue in the museum field.
