Visiting restoration laboratory<\/h2>\n<\/div>

The Visitable Restoration Lab is an innovative museum project that aims to educate and inform the public about the importance of protecting cultural and artistic heritage. Situated on the second floor of the Baroque Palace, in the last room of the European Art exhibition, the laboratory takes the public behind the museum’s backstage, giving visitors the opportunity to observe the restoration process up close: the specific tools, materials and techniques used in the process. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also, through specialized guides, workshops and regular restoration events, the public can better understand the complexities and challenges of this field. <\/span>The interactive experience offered by MNART Open View, unique among Romanian museums <\/span>contributes to increasing awareness, appreciation and respect for artistic heritage and the work of the specialists involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Beyond the unique experience offered to the general public, the National Museum of Art wants to be actively involved in the training of future professionals. To this end, exchanges of information and experience between specialists in the field and students in training are encouraged through the organization of international conferences on restoration and by constantly hosting internships for domestic and foreign students. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, in 2023 and 2024, in the Visiting Restoration Laboratory and other museum spaces, the museum’s restorers organized a series of workshops dedicated to pupils, students, young researchers and art lovers. <\/span>These interactive workshops were dedicated to different restoration techniques and methodologies, as well as modern technologies for investigating works of art. Using state-of-the-art equipment in the museum’s laboratory, techniques such as digital microscopy, 3D mapping, multispectral imaging, participants were shown details invisible to the naked eye such as: the materials used by the artist, the underlying layers of color and preparation. Details that contribute to an in-depth understanding of works of art and provide a scientific perspective on the restoration of works of art, illustrating the fusion between modern technology and the valorization of artistic heritage.<\/p>\n

Attending these interactive workshops can be a unique opportunity to learn and interact directly with experts in the field of restoration and gain a more detailed insight into the complex process of heritage conservation. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
