Micro-Pfolios
The moment Mona Lisa visited MNArT. Or not really, but… Micro-Folie brings together artworks from partner institutions in a digital gallery. With the help of technological infrastructure (tablets, video projections, audio system, VR headsets), participants have the opportunity to discover and admire works of art, access information about them and discover the playful side of the project. This digital archive overcomes cultural barriers and aims to facilitate access to culture for children of all ages and beyond. The virtual museum consists of several units that can be adapted according to demand and brings together works of art from several museums around the world, creating an interactive virtual gallery, complete with playlists, videos, games or other tools needed for cultural mediation. The project’s network of partners is constantly expanding and involves several prestigious international cultural institutions, including the Louvre Museum in Paris, Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, Coudenberg Palace in Brussels, Royal Palace in Madrid. The Timișoara National Art Museum has also become a Micro-Folie partner in 2022. Transferring the collection into a virtual environment means providing access to culture in underprivileged areas and reducing the need for physical resources. Technology can play a significant role in promoting sustainable practices in the art world, such as reducing waste and minimizing the environmental impact of exhibitions and installations, while also increasing access to art and promoting sustainable practices in the arts community.

Workshops
On the edge of the Green Forest, the village museum provides a suitable outdoor space for events and activities. Since 2021, Christmas Parks has been bringing together more cultural institutions and merchants to celebrate the holiday spirit. In 2022, the park included the “Christmas Lab” – an igloo where various cultural activities such as concerts, theater and creative workshops took place. MNArT was present with a series of workshops where both children and adults could gather and create wooden ornaments or greeting cards. Similar to the Christmas Park, the Spring Park had the same concept and took place at the Banat Village Museum, but in an outdoor Easter-themed setting. The proposed activities aimed at maintaining and developing cultural heritage and tradition through the painting of wooden eggs, based on the traditional egg painting technique adopted and adapted in different cultures. Another action that took place at the Banat Village Museum is a temporary open-air exhibition related to the concept of landscape art, integrated in nature according to the existing resources. Banners printed with the museum’s artworks have been mounted in trees, creating an open-air gallery that not only ‘blends’ with the landscape, but with which visitors can also interact. Instead of blocking the view, the images were chosen to complement the space. Each banner consists of an image from the museum’s collection on each side, a QR code with additional information, and a blank space where visitors can paint or draw together, resulting in a collaborative artwork. Active participation in the creative process can be achieved by assigning artistic ‘debts’ to those who wish to get involved. The visitor gains a clearer view and deeper understanding of the artwork through direct involvement in the creative act.
